$1.15 million awarded to six cities for comprehensive investment work

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded $1.15 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the category of Comprehensive Investment and Stabilization (CIS) to improve infrastructure and housing benefitting low- and middle-income residents in targeted areas of each city. The grants are administered by DED from the state’s annual allocation of CDBG funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded $1.15 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the category of Comprehensive Investment and Stabilization (CIS) to improve infrastructure and housing benefitting low- and middle-income residents in targeted areas of each city. The grants are administered by DED from the state’s annual allocation of CDBG funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The eligible cities participated in an initial three-year CIS effort that began in 2013 with a Comprehensive Needs Assessment and Revitalization Strategy. All cities provide local funding for the projects which have leveraged more than $1 million in additional resources.

Following are the cities and individual awards:
