$106,984 in CDBG funds awarded for third-cycle 2014 planning grants

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded $108,894 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to assist five communities with ongoing planning efforts.

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded $108,894 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to assist five communities with ongoing planning efforts.

The grants are part of Nebraska’s annual allocation of CDBG funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Funds are administered by DED.

These awards mark the third cycle of funding for planning projects from the 2014 CDBG allocations.

The communities that have been awarded grants are:

Crawford—$13,500 to update its comprehensive plan
Fairbury—$30,000 to develop a community park master plan and undertake a feasibility study
Hay Springs—$13,500 to update its comprehensive plan
Madison—$25,700 to update its comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance
Nelson—$24,194 to develop a community vision implementation plan
