NED, Inc. has identified a significant need for housing rehabilitation for families earning at or below 80 percent of the Area Family Median Income in the counties in which it serves.

The projects include:

$319,164 HOME funding to rehabilitate ten qualifying owner-occupied homes in Burt, Cedar, Colfax, Cuming, Dakota, Dixon, Dodge, rural Douglas, Madison, Pierce, Platte, Stanton, Thurston, Washington and Wayne counties. Currently there are 206 households in these counties on a waiting list for rehabilitation assistance.

$119,687 HOME funding to rehabilitate four qualifying owner-occupied homes in Boone, Antelope, Nance and Knox counties. There are 24 households in these counties on a waiting list.

NED Inc. also plans to enlist the help of Golden Rod Hills, Central Nebraska Community Services, and U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development to leverage additional funds necessary to assist more than these homeowners at this time.
