The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded $79,791 HOME funding to Sandhills Resource, Conservation & Development, Inc., (Sandhills RC&D), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Mullen, Neb., to undertake a Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Program.
Four homeowners earning at or below 80 percent of the median area income and living in Arthur, Grant, Hooker, Logan, McPherson and Thomas counties will receive services that may include bringing homes up to electrical, safety, and construction codes; lead paint abatement; roofing, siding, windows, painting, heating, insulation, and some interior remodeling.
Sandhills RC&D’s first OOR program was offered in 2005, and then, subsequently in 2006 and 2008. In addition to the aforementioned counties, the OOR program also serves Lincoln and Keith counties that also receive funding assistance from Lincoln County Community Development Corporation, and West Central Development District, respectively.
