Brady and Rosalie receive $500,000 CDBG funding to improve water and wastewater systems

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded $500,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to the villages of Brady and Rosalie to update components of water and wastewater systems.

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded $500,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to the villages of Brady and Rosalie to update components of water and wastewater systems.

Brady (pop. 352) will use $250,000 CDBG funding to rehabilitate a four-cell retention lagoon facility. An additional $78,400 from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality State Revolving Fund will complete the project. For information, contact Pam Diehl, Clerk, at 308-584-3316.

Rosalie (pop. 188) will use $250,000 CDBG funding to establish the Rosalie Water Distribution System Improvement Project that will involve replacing 7,000 linear feet of existing 4-inch water main with 6-inch water mains, and installing gate valves, boxes, fittings, 12 fire hydrant assemblies with valves, and polyurethane service lines, in addition to other work. Federal funds are made available to DED from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s CDBG program to assist with the development of businesses and communities throughout the state. Funding requests for this program are administered by DED and are available to local governments with populations less than 50,000 and counties in Nebraska.
