Japan is the top Asian market and fourth-largest global market for U.S. exports of consumer-oriented food products. FOODEX Japan is the largest annual food and beverage trade show in Asia offering exhibitors access not only to Japan’s $788 billion food market but to many other lucrative Asian markets as well. In 2021, despite COVID-19 travel restrictions and restrictions on large in-person gatherings, FOODEX Japan attracted 25,754 visitors and welcomed 6 U.S. exhibitors. In 2020, FOODEX Japan was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, the USA Pavilion at this USDA-endorsed show welcomed 59 exhibitors. The 59 U.S. exhibitors included 21 small-to-medium size and 15 new-to-market companies.
