Chadron has become the 36th community to earn the designation of Nebraska Economic Development Certified Community.
Nebraska Northwest Development Corporation (NNDC) board members and the city council have all been supportive throughout the entire application and certification process, said Deb Cottier, NNDC executive director.

The cities of Columbus, Fremont, Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney, Norfolk and North Platte will split $94,500 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the Community Revitalization category. Grants are administered by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development from the state’s annual allocation of CDBG funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
