The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) will open a public comment period for the 2017 National Housing Trust Fund (HTF) Allocation Plan, which is a part of the 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan and the 2017 Annual Action Plan. DED will hold a public hearing on July 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. (CST) at the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED), Nebraska State Office Building, 301 Centennial Mall South, Fourth Floor. This public hearing is provided in addition to the public comment period regarding the 2017 HTF Allocation Plan that will begin on July 24, 2017 and will end on August 6, 2017.

The 2017 National Housing Trust Fund Allocation Plan involves the annual distribution of approximately $3 million in National Housing Trust Funds (HTF) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (authorized under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended). The National Housing Trust Fund Allocation Plan describes how Nebraska intends to distribute the HTF Funds, including what activities may be under taken and how recipients and projects will be selected. The National Housing Trust Fund is a part of the Consolidated Plan, which serves as a planning document for the State which builds on a comprehensive consultation and citizen participation process; an application for federal funds; a strategy for housing, homelessness, and community and economic development; and an action plan provides a basis for measuring and assessing performance. The 2017 Annual Action Plan describes annual program priorities and strategies, program goals and objectives; and the allocation and method of distribution of programs.

The public comment period for the National Housing Trust Fund Allocation Plan will run from July 24 through August 6, 2017.
