NEWS

Communities statewide are encouraged to celebrate the talent, insight and energy of Nebraska’s young professionals by participating in Young Nebraskans Week (YNW) 2020!

This April 17-25, join other communities in hosting YNW events — from networking luncheons and coffee socials to concerts and local business tours — that are designed to recognize, support and connect the young people who are leading the Nebraska economy into the future.

This year, the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) is excited to announce that YNW will take place in the spring, through a new partnership with NEWaukee’s National Young Professionals Week. That means YNW events will be promoted on the national YP Week website, alongside other YP events happening around the globe!

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to showcase and market our communities and our state. As such, we encourage participants to promote their YNW activities with social media posts, graphics, images and stories that showcase what makes them great places for young professionals to live, work and play. For ideas, and to browse last year’s activities, visit YPWeek.com.

After planning your YNW event(s), register them on www.youngnebraskansweek.com by February 14 to be featured on YPWeek.com. Hosting an event in your community is very easy. For ideas, please check out the YNW Event Ideas page on our website.

YNW will be promoted on the Nebraska Good Life social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram) moving forward. Please connect with these accounts to stay current on the latest news and updates. When you post your own social media content, we encourage you to use the hashtags #YoungNebraskansWeek and #YPWeek to help us promote the state!

Important deadlines to note:

  • February 14: Deadline for communities to submit event descriptions (in order to be featured on YPWeek.com)
  • April 17-25: Young Nebraskans Week

For questions, contact DED’s Karrissa Jyles at karrissa.jyles@nebraska.gov. This and more information can also be found on youngnebraskansweek.com.

Thank you for helping us celebrate this year!
