The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) will host Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Certified Administrators Training this May 7-10. Completing the course is a requirement for those who have not previously completed the training and wish to administer CDBG projects in Nebraska.
The CDBG program, administered by DED, awards funding to help communities provide decent, safe and sanitary housing, a suitable living environment and expanded economic opportunities. Its primary objective is to benefit low- and moderate-income persons.
The Nebraska CDBG program requires any municipality or county that receives CDBG funds to hire and/or employ a Nebraska Certified Administrator to oversee projects.
DED offers full certification training once a year for individuals who will be administering CDBG projects and assisting with their successful implementation.
To become certified, individuals will need to complete the four-day course in its entirety and pass a written exam.
This year’s training will take place at the Hyatt Place Lincoln (600 Q Street, Lincoln, NE). Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m., with training commencing at 9 a.m.
To register for this training, visit https://opportunity.nebraska.gov/events. The deadline to register is Friday, April 26, 2019. A $130 per person registration fee includes all training materials.
Individuals who wish to attend only certain portions of the training can register to do so, with a course fee of $35 per day.
