Agency Now Accepting Applications for the Recovery Assistance Program of Immediate Distribution (RAPID) and the Youth, Talent and Workforce Development Program.
The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) is now accepting applications for two application cycles: the Recovery Assistance Program for Immediate Distribution (RAPID) and Youth, Talent and Workforce Development (YTWD) grant programs. These grant opportunities are available under the North & South Omaha Recovery Grant Program (NSORG), which was created through Legislative Bill (LB) 531 in 2023, with the intent of aiding economic recovery and resilience in North and South Omaha.
The application is now open for both programs. The last day to submit an application for the RAPID or YTWD grant programs is Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. CT.
To be eligible for the RAPID grant program, the applicant organization’s project must be designated as a catalyst project or quick win and recommended for funding in the coordination plan by the Economic Recovery Special Committee of the Legislature, dated January 10th, 2023.
To be eligible for the YTWD program, the applicant organization must be named in the coordination plan or appendices by the Economic Recovery Special Committee of the Legislature, dated January 10th, 2023. A copy of the coordination plan and appendices can be found here.
Eligible projects must be located within a qualified census tract (QCT) or economic redevelopment area (ERA) within the boundaries of the City of Omaha.
