The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) is now accepting applications for the Placemaking Infrastructure application cycle. This grant opportunity is available under the North & South Omaha Recovery Grant Program (NSORG) created through Legislative Bill (LB) 531 in 2023. The intent of the NSORG program is to aid economic recovery and resilience in North and South Omaha.

The application is now open. The last day to submit an application for the Placemaking Infrastructure funding opportunity is Monday, October 2, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. CT.

To be eligible for the opportunity, the applicant organization must be named in the coordination plan or appendices issued by the Economic Recovery Special Committee of the Legislature, dated January 10, 2023. A copy of the plan and appendices can be found here.

Eligible projects must be located within a qualified census tract (QCT) or an economic redevelopment area (ERA) located within the boundaries of the City of Omaha. In addition, applicant organizations must obtain a letter of support from the Mayor’s Office of the City of Omaha for the specific grant proposal.
