The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has announced the recipients of $70 million in grant funding for the second funding cycle of the Shovel-Ready Capital Recovery and Investment Act Program. As of October 4th, DED had received 66 applications totaling more than $183 million in 2023 Shovel-Ready funding requests. A total of 17 awards are being announced today. All available grant funds for the 2023 Shovel-Ready program have now been allocated. 

The Shovel-Ready program was approved for additional funding from the State General Fund during the 2023 Legislative Session and signed into law by Governor Jim Pillen. The funding assists qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations with capital projects that were delayed due to COVID-19 or that will provide a positive economic impact in the State of Nebraska.
