For more than four decades, an organization in Nebraska has worked to support and bolster the economic growth and development of Nebraska. With the annual Nebraska Diplomats events upon us, it is a good time to recognize the hard work that our local business men and women offer to support Nebraska's economic development efforts.
The Nebraska Department of Economic Development has awarded $1,767,100 in Nebraska Affordable Housing Program funding to a city and five housing organizations based in western Nebraska to undertake various activities.

Today, Lt. Gov. Lavon Heidemann, as Chair of the Nebraska Information Technology Commission, is inviting Nebraska businesses to participate in a new project through the Nebraska Broadband Initiative. The Nebraska Broadband Initiative is launching a statewide survey and scorecard project in early September to help the state's businesses increase their economic vitality by better utilizing broadband technologies.
