Nebraska Transformational Projects Act
The Nebraska Transformational Projects Act will provide matching funds to Nebraska postsecondary education institutions with a college of medicine located within the State of Nebraska with projects at a qualified location for academic medical, research, education, and training purposes. No more than $50 million dollars of matching funds will be paid per year under this act.
Eligibility Information
Legislative Bill 644 (2025) (codified as Neb. Rev. Stat. § 77-3,114) prohibits foreign adversarial companies from receiving benefits under an incentive program of the State of Nebraska. Prior to applying, please see Memo 25-04 Foreign Adversarial Company, found also in the Guidance Documents section. Applicants meeting the definition of foreign adversarial company will not be approved for benefits. See the final reading of LB644 for more information.
Eligible Applicants
A qualified applicant must be a postsecondary institution having a college of medicine located in the State of Nebraska.
Eligible Projects
To be eligible for matching funds, the project must: (i) be at one qualified location, (ii) in State of Nebraska, (iii) for academic medical, research, education, and training purposes, and (iv) have an investment of at least one billion six hundred million dollars.
Matching Funds
Subject to adequate appropriation of funds, an applicant may be eligible for fifteen percent of the total approved investment in the project, up to fifty million dollars each year. Matching funds will be paid to the applicant on an annual basis under the Nebraska Transformational Projects Act.
