Environmental Review Public Notices

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development is committed to promoting and implementing public participation. Many of the programs administered by DED must be in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA). Informing the public who may be put at greater or continued risk ensures fairness and transparency is one of the pillars of NEPA and the environmental review process.

An environmental review is the process of reviewing a project and its potential environmental impacts to determine whether it meets federal, state, and local environmental standards.

DED maintains this page as an opportunity for people learn more about projects and participate in decision-making. Increasing awareness for residents living in or near project sites promotes a collaborative effort between the government and the public to ensure responsible development. If you live in an area with a project that could potentially affect your environment, you are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

While not every project is subject to a full environmental review, every project must be in compliance. More information about the environmental review process and its applicability to projects is available under Additional Resources.

Current Environmental Review Public Notices

DED is committed to promoting and implementing public participation through public notification and public input. Below are current environmental review notices (e.g., FONSI, NOI, FONSI-NOI, Early Public Notice for an Activity in the Floodplain/Wetland, Final 8-Step Notice). Depending on the project, these notices may also be published in another location to facilitate public engagement.

For all public notices published below where there is an Expiration Date, this is the date listed in the requisite document for any action, e.g., last day of public comment period.
